THE HEART OF HERITAGE

Indonesian label TOTON – which named after the designer, Toton Januar – was created by Toton and Haryo Balitar in 2012 to fuse masculine and feminine elements with Indonesia’s diverse culture. Born in Makassar and raised by his seamstress single mother, the designer developed a fascination with the artisanal aspect of design at a young age. He offers a unique take on women’s ready-to-wear and approach the natural beauty of nation’s heritage.  

This is not your average day-to-night dressing label. Menswear tailoring, batik prints and embroideries are TOTON Spring Summer 2018 collection’s signature, seen in everything from traditional top to separates with more unexpected details, like raffia tasseled skirt. The collection – Rayuan Pulau Kelapa inspired by the famous national anthem. The brand has already received major love around the world, such as France, Japan, and China.
