Lanvin was founded in Paris in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin. Her skill at evoking a classically composed sense of femininity soon turned Lanvin into one of France’s oldest premier couture house, with its focus on ageless elegance as an everyday pursuit establishing a lasting heritage. In January 2019, Lanvin appointed a new creative director, Bruno Sialelli – who previously worked with Jonathan Anderson at Loewe, as well as stints at Acne Studios, Paco Rabanne and Balenciaga. Sialelli has brought a fresh and youthful vision to the house. Sialelli’s eclectic collection, defined by its heavy layering, strong patterns, and vibrant colors, is one inspired by the travels of Jeanne Lanvin, transcending categorical distinctions by blurring the lines between men’s and women’s wear. With his playful, charming, and powerful designs, Sialelli continues to usher Lanvin to move into a new territory modern attitude as the French house heads into the future.
