AN EXOTIC TWIST ON LOCAL HERITAGE

Toton Januar and Haryo Balitar started TOTON in 2012 to provide an answer to the modern women’s need of individual style. Based in Jakarta, the brand celebrates Indonesian heritage while deconstructing traditions, offering unique garments as a juxtaposition of feminine dressing and menswear inspired silhouette. The brand has already received major exposure on the global fashion stage in France, Japan, and China. 

For Fall Winter 19, Toton collection brings upon the theme of ‘Sensuality’, the designer challenges the public perception of women in Indonesia, how they dress and influence in this considered conservative city. Subtle tonal color in powdery hues of cream, blush, coral and green are seen on multi sensorial fabric play and textures of pleats. Intricate hand embroidery in floral forms is sewn into sheer materials such as tulles, chiffon to pleated organza and wool.
